Rhondda Cynon Taf Business Club is committed to protecting the privacy of all users of rctbusinessclub.co.uk (the "Site") and maintaining the security of any personal information you provide to us. We, as part of Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council, are registered under the Data Protection Act 1998 and strictly adhere to the eight principles of the Data Protection Act 1998 and the purpose of this statement is to explain what personal information we collect and how we may use it. We reserve the right to change our Privacy Policy at any time by posting any changes on the Site. Any changes will take place on the date that they are posted onto the Site. Your continued use of this Site after any changes have been posted shall be deemed as your acceptance of the modified Privacy Policy.

Your information

In order to provide you with services and other information we collect the following personal information from you:

(a) Personal information you give us when completing your membership application;

(b) Additional personal information you choose to give us in correspondence;

(c) Correspondence from other Business Club members about your activities; and

(d) Statistical data regarding your behaviour and use of the Site.

We do not collect or store card details provided for payment as these are collected and stored by our service provider, ’Secure Hosting’ http://www.securehosting.com/. We follow strict security through our service provider in terms of storage and disclosure of information of our customer’s details, to prevent unauthorised access.

Additionally, we may take information via enquiries from organisations who are not members, but who maybe interested in finding our more about the Business Club. In this case, we may use the information supplied to keep them informed about Business Club events or news. Additionally we may approach organisations who have made enquiries, to ascertain if they are interested in membership of the Business Club.

How we use your supplied information

The details we collect from you are supplied in order to facilitate the operation of the Business Club and to facilitate your request in undertaking a transaction when you book and pay for any of the events or other benefits offered for purchase through the Business Club.

When you join the Business Club, you are agreeing to the information you have supplied being used to promote your business to other members who may wish to contact you. Your details will be kept safely and securely and you may withdraw your consent to such dissemination of your details by confirming in writing that you wish to do so.

This information also enables Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council as organisers of the Business Club to use member details promotionally, keeping members informed of the latest developments and opportunities provided by the Business Club.

The information with regard to name and company contact details provided when an individual undertakes a transaction are required:-

(1) For the Business Club to properly facilitate and progress applications and membership.

(2) To help organise and communicate effectively arrangements over events or in relation to other items procured.

(3) To identify you when you contact us.

(4) To help us administer and contact you about improved administration of any services or products now or in the future.

(5) To contact you to obtain your feedback or opinions in relation to further improvement of the Business Club or to gain opinion on related business ideas, which would be of benefit to the business community.

Your information will be handled in accordance with UK Data Protection legislation.

Disclosure of your supplied information to third parties

By agreeing to our Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Policy, you agree that we may disclose your personal information in the following ways:

(a) By providing information about your business on the Site and this information will be available to all other registered members;

(b) We may provide your information to our partners who provide services to us and our members who may contact you with details of their goods and services;

(c) We may provide your information to other departments within Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council who may use the information for statistical, marketing or promotional purposes.

Unless required to do so by law, we will not otherwise share, sell or distribute any of the information you provide to us without your consent.

Your Rights

In order to maintain the accuracy of our Business Club members database, you can check, remove or update your details either on line via the Site, by emailing or telephoning the Business Club..

Users of the Site can also unsubscribe from newsletters sent out from the Business Club by contacting the Business Club.

Additionally any organisation which does not wish to receive information from the Business Club can also contact us to have their details removed from any marketing databases and thereby be excluded from any future mailings (either hard copy or electronic).

Upon request we will remove your information from the Site and we will only retain your information for a reasonable period to resolve disputes, enforce our Terms and Conditions, assist with investigations or for as long as the law requires.
