1 Feb 2010

Business of all sizes and backgrounds are being urged to go for Gold – by taking advantage of the contracting opportunities offered by the 2012 London Olympics.

Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Business Support Team is helping to promote CompeteFor, a free service that enables firms to bid for contracts as a result of the international sporting phenomenon.

The initiative, which can be found at www.competefor.com, outlines the opportunities the Olympic Games will bring, including over 50,000 contracts for services that will be procured.

Find out more about the opportunities and how to get involved by visiting the website.

Cllr Paul Cannon, Cabinet Member for Economic Development and Housing, said: "Wales is not just home to some of the great athletes who will shine at London 2012.

"We are also home to many inspiring, innovative businesses and we want to see them take advantage of the opportunities the Games will present.

"Please visit the site and get involved – there is always assistance available from our Business Support and Procurement teams if you need support with contracts and bids."
