Bedroom Boom = Baby Boom?

Pontypridd e-business SupplyOnlyBedrooms.co.uk are pleased to announce, despite the recession, business has been flourishing – which may be linked to the recent Baby Boom! The increase in demand for quality custom fit bedroom furniture at an affordable price has led the online retailer to invest heavily in a new high tech, yet customer friendly website.

Mike Shea, Managing Director of SupplyOnlyBedrooms.co.uk says that the current climate, albeit difficult for more traditional methods of purchasing, has not affected his e-commerce enterprise and thinks the recession has encouraged consumers to shop around for the best price possible.

The World Wide Web has generated a reputation as the most economical way to shop and online purchases are set to increase further. By 2011, it is predicted that 32m UK consumers will be shopping online. The value of goods they buy online in 2011 will add up to almost £52bn. (Forrester, UK eCommerce Forecast 2006-2011, March 2007).

SupplyOnlyBedrooms.co.uk has benefited from the support of the Heads of the Valleys Innovation Programme (HOVIP) and a grant from Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council in the redevelopment of the website which was undertaken by Pontypridd based Fairhill Solutions. Mike says the input from all parties concerned has been crucial in taking this project forward.

"HOVIP provided me with one to one specific mentoring support from Jayne Davies – a marketing advisor who also helped me access funding towards the website from RCT council’s Ecommerce (non LIF) Grant. Fairhill Solutions picked up the project and have produced a high quality website which is second to none. Without this support, the project would not have moved forward as quickly and smoothly as it did."

Mike Shea set up the business in 2008 and is looking to expand into kitchen and bathroom furniture and fittings in the near future due to the success of his current enterprise.
