Biting off more than he can chew?

23 May 2007

Guests were treated to a different and unusual approach to management this month as part of the latest Business Club event.

The latest event took place at the Ty Newydd Country Hotel on May 17 and saw Dr Paul Thomas of the innovative DNA Network Wales talk to guests at an early morning breakfast about being successful through "not managing".

He argued that performance indicators and traditional processes were actually stifling the impact of businesses. For more information on the DNA Wales approach to things, visit www.dnawales.co.uk

Cllr Robert Bevan, Cabinet member for Economic Development and Skills, said: "We always listen to the views of the Business Club members and provide events based on what they have said would be useful to them.

"Members were keen to get an insight into a fresh approach to running their business and Dr Thomas delivered that perfectly.

"As well as networking, advice and tender alerts offered regularly, the events we organise cover a wide range of topics – from personnel issues to environmental responsibility, budget briefings and even an evening with the First Minister."
